Daddy's Girl

Steve may say he wants to give the cats away. But secretly he loves them more than I do. Especially Reese, she sits on him most evenings.

How to Decide!!

Last night, the hubby and I went light shopping. We found 3 really amazing stores, with lots of cool and unusual options. Some really expensive, some reasonable. Some really nice, some hideously ugly. The only thing is, how do you know it wont' look tacky when you get it home? Especially when you maybe spending $1100 on it?
Here's a few that we were quite "wowed" by, but still not entirely too sure what to do...

Our personal fave!

Not too bad.

Possibly too large.

Cool looking, but maybe too pricey?

Old friends, are new again :)

Its like finding an old sweater, that you thought didn't fit anymore. You put it on, it not only fits, it looks better than it ever did before. Its comfortable, it makes you feel happy, and safe and nice.
Who thought we could go back? Not I. Never would have imagined it.
Thank goodness we did.
Yay for old friends that I thought I had lost.
I knew something had been missing.

Sleepy head...

"Thoughts whirling by, a frantic pace
Neurotic, erotic and commonplace"

That's the first two lines of a poem that I starting penning while dozing on the bus this morning. Hmm, guess I might write two more lines on my commute home.

My hubby the wood worker

My talented hubby designed and built this beautiful table. I'm quite impressed by his craftmanship. :)

He also created this lovely poker table. Its a work of art.

Nature in the Concrete Jungle Part II

On Monday morning as I sat at my desk at work, I saw this large bird land on a building across the way. When i took a good look I realized it must be a falcon. So beautiful and majestic. I was lucky that it sat long enough for me to snap a couple of pictures.

Is it worth the walk?

Now I love food as much as anyone, but sometimes you have decide if the journey is worth the destination.

For example, Hero Burgers:

Tasty, yummy, quite lovely. Also awesome fries. But was it worth walking 1.4km (sure not so far) in this disgusting, humid, hot, muggy weather and to end up with a brutal blister on my right heel? I don't know. As usual, the food was tasty. But now it hurts to walk, and I dread having to wear my shoes home.

Currently I'm walking barefoot around the office. But not sure that I would be willing to do that on the sidewalk or the subway. The idea kind of creeps me out. No rewind, it totally DOES FREAK ME OUT. Gross.

A Perfect Moment

Sometimes when you least expect it, you can experience a perfect moment. It can go by in a flash, but the feeling of peace can stay with you for a long time.
Last week, while walking to the bus one morning, it happened. All at once everything seemed to converge on this moment. It was a beautiful day, sunny and blue skies. It suddenly became quiet, not a car on the road, nor the sound of people anywhere. Then I saw him, the heron, flying towards me. He was beautiful, graceful, long and lithe. His thin legs stretched out behind him, and he effortlessly beat his wings and glided by. As if there was no effort required to fly.
And in that moment, it fed my soul peace. Then he was gone, the only reminder that he had been there, was the feeling he left me with. The feeling of a perfect moment.

Reesie

This is my little Reesie girl posing for me while I tested out my new digital camera. Isn't she cute?

Sometimes Nature can thrive in the middle of the concrete jungle.

Sometimes you find unexpected treasures in the middle of the city. I noticed the ducks hanging out in this fountain near Roy Thomson Hall about 3 or 4 weeks ago. Just when they had refilled the fountain after winter. Then one day, the mother duck had 3 little ducklings with her. Its amazing how quickly they've grown in such a short time. They now enjoy swimming in the fountain with their Mommy. Its the highlight of my walk from the subway to work every morning.

Boring Bugs!

Wow, now i'm finding boring and dull people are starting to annoy me. Maybe its because they are using up necessary oxygen. Or that i have to sit and talk with them and pretend that I find their conversation fascinating. Wow, old age is making me grouchy. Maybe i just need a nap, who knows really?

God knows some may find me boring, or at the very least annoying. And they are nice enough to not tell me, they are better people than me!

I wish i was more tolerant, but find that its not in me to be a better person I guess.

I'm grouchy for no reason

Well, none that i can think of anyway.

Hmm, what is my problem?

Truthfully, I have no idea. Maybe its the cold. Maybe I'm just tired. Maybe I just like to whine.

Either way, I think I'm entitled. Or maybe not.
